The Children’s Play Policy Forum has today issued a policy statement identifying a crisis in childhood and calling for more children’s play opportunities. The cancellation of public liability insurance for children’s playgrounds comes at a time when new research is encouraging less screen time and more outdoor play.

The Federation of Sports and Play Associations (FSPA) would like to reassure our members that the UK leaving the European Union (EU) does not affect our strategic aims and the way forward that we have agreed to take over the next few years.

A collective sigh of relief swept across the UK as golf re-opened last Wednesday, 13th May.  Golfers, who have been under strict lockdown, were delighted to be allowed to play again. Play is in the reduced one and two ball formats, except for the occasional larger group if they are all from the same household. Government departments such as health, education and transport should have a minister dedicated to sports policy, according to several members of parliament.
