Sutcliffe Play (South West) Ltd is the regional distributor for Sutcliffe Play Ltd with an office located in Dorset and we have been working with Sutcliffe Play since 2003.

Sutcliffe Play is the largest employee-owned UK manufacturer in the play industry being a long-standing and reputable supplier of premium quality play equipment.

Working as part of the Play Area Design team, the ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D Modelling software and an interest in design. This is an in-person, full time office based position.

Main duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assess site specific information to determine the customer brief
  • Liaise with the Sales team to discuss projects, specifications and best practice
  • Produce high quality, exciting, engaging and well-planned 3D visual renders of proposed play areas to further support the role of the sales team and to help our customers with their decision-making process
  • Create striking and impactful drawings and layouts through use of relevant CAD software
  • Produce detailed technical drawings to further support our Contract Manager & Installers with site planning and installation
  • Support the rest of the design team as reasonably requested with any ad hoc projects
  • Work to specific deadlines and keep to a set schedule
  • Ensure the design and specification of the play areas conform to relevant safety standards
  • Work through customer revisions and amendments as required and as efficiently as possible
  • Prepare full printed proposal packs as required to post/email to customers and/or members of the Sales team
  • Work to and follow a set brief
  • Assess and work through detailed tender specifications

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience of playground design is desirable
  • Working knowledge and relevant experience of AutoCad, 3DS Max, Excel, Photoshop & InDesign
  • Preferrable working knowledge of V-Ray advantageous albeit not essential
  • Computer literate (Microsoft packages)
  • A good attention to detail, interpreting design briefs and cost analysis
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a small team

Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday (9am – 5pm with 30 minute lunch break)
  • Fridays (9am – 4pm with 30 minute lunch break)
