FSPA Supports Operation Christmas Child

  • Posted on Feb 18, 2016

In December 2015 staff at the Federation of Sports and Play Associations decided to support Operation Christmas Child by providing shoe boxes filled with goodies for disadvantaged children.

We have learned today, our small token of festively wrapped boxes, were amongst 172,844 shoe boxes sent to Romania from the UK.

Operations Christmas Child enables children all over the globe to experience the joy of a simple shoe box gift and the hope that comes with knowing they are loved and not forgotten.

Our boxes contained colouring pens and pencils, gloves, toothbrushes and toothpaste, toys, sweets,
face clothes, stationery, hair slides all of which seem small gestures but brought huge smiles to these children’s faces.

The simplest of gifts make a huge impact one of the children stated that she was so pleased to receive a toothbrush of her own and toothpaste as her family could not afford them and she was grateful that she didn’t now have to use a stick to clean her teeth.
